What is Cupping?

Cupping is also known as Massage Cupping, MediCupping, and VacuTherapies. Cupping provides a wonderful bridge to the medical community, with special applications for pre- and post-surgery conditions, chiropractic and orthopedic work, conditions associated with Diabetes, Parkinson’s, Fibromyalgia, and much more. Results are fast and comfortable for the client, and noticeably impressive to medical professionals.

One of the most amazing aspects of this technique is the “separation” that the vacuum produces in tissue layers. This implements water absorption and renewed blood flow to undernourished and dehydrated tissue as well as the elimination of old waste and congestion.

Along with the substantial health benefits of clearing old debris, the use of suction is invaluable in releasing soft tissue, scars, and restricted fascia. Sports professionals are benefiting from the ease of recovery from injury or surgery and an increase in athletic performance, and major league sports teams are utilizing the therapy.

MediCupping™ is the use of a machine that creates suction and pumping movements to create a soothing, consistent and effective treatment without strain on the client. A brief experience with MediCupping™ will illustrate the immediate treatment applications, as well as the amazing information that the body reveals through the lens of the cup. As an adjunct therapy to chiropractic manipulations, medical protocols, and surgical recovery, MediCupping™ therapy accelerates patient progress … leading to happy clients and increased referrals from medical professionals!

One experience will leave you asking, “Why didn’t someone show me this before?!”

Welcome to Zen Zone Massage Therapy

Welcome to Zen Zone Massage Therapy

Hello, World!

Welcome to Zen Zone Massage Therapy!

I named my business Zen Zone Massage Therapy because that’s what giving massages does for me; it makes me Zen. When I am giving a treatment, I am in that moment; everything outside the room is left outside the room. I am fully attentive to my client and their needs, which puts me into a Zen moment; it’s my Zen Zone.

The exchanging of energies – taking the negative energies out and adding the positive energies is cleansing not just for my clients, but for me as well. Energy work can reduce stress and help you gain a better understanding of your inner self. It’s designed to balance the energy of the body, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It can reduce pain and prevent future pain because our bodies are amazing; they have the natural ability to heal themselves.

I incorporate energy work (Reiki) into every massage. Reiki is probably the most common energy techniques that massage therapist’s use. I often have clients ask me what I use to warm up my oil – the answer is my energy. My hands radiate heat with all the positive energies that I flow through me into my client. I sometimes think of Reiki as a healing touch or therapeutic touch. I don’t feel as though it needs a label, I use the label so clients understand what I am doing.

In my opinion, energy work is also linked to quantum physics. I believe that quantum physics, in a nutshell, is that each person chooses his or her own perception of reality. Problems tend to start when we get stuck in repeated patterns and only see life in a specific way. Energy work helps us to free ourselves from our past problems and to gain a new, fresh outlook on life.

When we are stressed out (who isn’t), our bodies restrict energy flow or suppress bad energy deep within the body. This leads to stress and anxiety, as well as physical manifestations of the bad energy in the form of pain or illness. When I cleanse the body of its negative energy and reinforce the positive energy balance, you can live a peaceful, happier life with less stress and the ability to recover from emotional trauma. Energy work becomes aware of the power of our emotions and feelings.

How do you find the right massage therapist for you? There are many therapists in our community. Many people want to choose by the business name, credentials, or price. These things may be good factors, but they are not the sole reasons behind picking a single therapist from the bunch.

A skilled and serious practitioner continues their education striving even past massage therapy to achieve greater knowledge of the body and how it functions. Even if the therapist is right out of school, this means that they are driven and ambitious. There are therapists that have been doing it for 5 years plus that haven’t opened a book since graduation.

Does your massage therapist listen to you? Massage is a very intimate engagement. In my experience, very few massage therapists take the time to ask about your concerns, review complete health histories, and advise accordingly based on your health, as it exists. Many diseases are not advisable to receive massage and it is vital that your therapist can easily spot any condition that could put the client or the practitioner at risk.

Does your therapist meet your needs? Many therapists have different specialties and not all therapist care to perform all types of massage. Having a therapist that can do a Swedish massage (relaxation), a corrective or deep tissue massage, and one specialty massage for example, lymphatic or reflexology will help.

Sometimes it is nice to relax and sleep during a massage while other times you awake with a kink in your neck needing some relief. Having a handful of different types of modalities that your therapist performs, at your disposal is imperative and will help you decipher which styles of bodywork work best for you.
